Georgian translation services

Georgian translation services Diskusija offers

Georgia has emerged as one of the most dynamic economies in the Caucasus, positioned between Europe and Central Asia and increasingly connected to both — real GDP growth reached 9.4% in 2024, driven by services, IT, construction and trade. A Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU provides Georgian exporters tariff-free access to the European single market, and the country's position on the Trans-Caspian Middle Corridor is drawing growing transit and logistics activity. For international businesses looking toward Georgia, or for Georgian companies reaching outward, professional Georgian translation is a core practical requirement — across legal compliance, product documentation, digital content and commercial communication.

Diskusija delivers professional Georgian translation services across all major content types and sectors. Our translators are native Georgian speakers with demonstrated subject-matter expertise, and our project managers handle the full lifecycle of every project — from initial brief through delivery — so that quality, consistency and deadlines are never left to chance.

Georgian language services we provide:

  • Georgian translation and proofreading — translation into and from Georgian across all document types and content formats, with independent proofreading as a separate stage and terminology consistency across the entire project, in line with ISO 17100.
  • Localization into Georgian — complete adaptation of websites, software, apps and digital products for the Georgian market, including UI layout adjustments, local formatting conventions and cultural relevance.
  • Transcreation — creative adaptation of marketing and brand content for the Georgian market, where the goal is to reproduce the intent, tone and emotional impact of the original in a way that resonates naturally with a Georgian audience.
  • Copywriting in Georgian — original content created in Georgian by native writers: website pages, product descriptions, campaign material, editorial content and anything else that should sound as though Georgia is where it started.
  • Georgian interpreting — consecutive and simultaneous interpreting for business meetings, trade negotiations, conferences and official proceedings, delivered by Georgian interpreters with relevant sector experience.
  • AI/MT Georgian translation with post-editing — for large-volume Georgian projects that benefit from speed and scale: AI translation tools handle the initial processing, a native Georgian linguist then reviews every segment for accuracy, terminology and register — certified to ISO 18587.

Do you have a Georgian project?

Let’s talk about it

Georgian translation across industries

Georgia's economy is growing quickly and becoming increasingly outward-facing. The sectors that drive demand for Georgian translation — from IT and software to automotive, life sciences and legal compliance — each bring their own terminology, regulatory context and quality expectations. Our Georgian translators are selected for each project based on the specific content area, so that subject-matter knowledge and linguistic precision come together in every deliverable.

  • IT and software Georgian translation

Georgia's technology sector is one of the fastest-growing contributors to the country's GDP, with a skilled IT workforce and an expanding startup ecosystem. Software products built for export need localization into target-market languages, while international platforms entering the Georgian market need Georgian-language versions that accommodate local formatting and read naturally to users. We handle both directions: UI localization, help documentation, SaaS platforms, e-learning content, mobile applications and multimedia.

  • Technical and manufacturing Georgian translation

Georgia's industrial base includes metals processing, mining and a growing manufacturing sector that exports to EU and regional markets under preferential trade terms. Technical documentation in these sectors is terminology-intensive and safety-critical. We translate product manuals, engineering specifications, maintenance and operation guides, safety data sheets, product labelling and certification documentation — ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance across all Georgian-language materials.

  • Legal and regulatory Georgian translation

Georgia's legal and regulatory framework has undergone significant development, particularly through the legislative alignment required by its Association Agreement and DCFTA with the EU. Legal translation needs span contracts, corporate documentation, regulatory filings, court materials, compliance policies and intellectual property documentation. Our Georgian legal translators combine terminological precision with the formal register that legal content in Georgian requires — whether translating Georgian legal texts for international partners or bringing foreign legal content into Georgian.

  • Life sciences Georgian translation

Georgia's healthcare and pharmaceutical sector serves both the domestic market and a growing medical tourism segment. Pharmaceutical products, medical devices and clinical documentation all require accurate Georgian-language materials to meet national regulatory standards. We translate patient information leaflets, summaries of product characteristics, clinical trial documentation, medical device manuals, safety data sheets and regulatory submissions — handled by translators with the specialist knowledge these materials demand.

  • Automotive Georgian translation

Georgia's role as a transit hub and its active vehicle market create steady demand for automotive documentation in Georgian. Owner's manuals, in-vehicle software, service and warranty handbooks, heavy machinery documentation, marketing materials and corporate communications all require accurate and consistent Georgian translation. Our automotive translators bring the terminology knowledge and precision that this sector demands.

  • Financial and fintech Georgian translation

Georgia's financial sector is active and internationally connected, with banking, insurance, investment services and a growing fintech segment all generating Georgian translation needs. Financial translation covers terms and conditions, regulatory disclosures, investment documentation, audit reports, compliance policies, shareholder information and user-facing content for digital financial products. Accuracy is both a regulatory requirement and a matter of institutional credibility — our Georgian financial translators bring the sector expertise to deliver both.

  • Tourism and hospitality Georgian translation

Tourism contributes around 15% of Georgia's GDP, with over 5 million international tourist visits recorded in 2024 and continued growth in 2025. Translation needs span hotel and booking platform content, destination marketing, visitor information, tour descriptions and guest communications — and the work often goes in both directions, with Georgian businesses communicating outward to international audiences.

  • Marketing and brand content in Georgian

If your brand is entering or growing in the Georgian market, the content that represents it needs to connect with the audience on their terms. Our native Georgian marketing linguists will work with you to identify the right approach: translation for content that carries across naturally, transcreation where a campaign concept or tagline needs to be reshaped for the market, and original Georgian copywriting where the content should be created fresh.

How we deliver Georgian translation

Every Georgian translation project at Diskusija is handled by native Georgian translators and supported by a process designed to deliver consistent quality — from the first brief to the final deliverable, at any scale.

  • Your dedicated project manager

Your project manager is your single point of contact from initial brief through to final delivery. They take the time to understand what you need — the content, the purpose, the audience, the timeline — and build the right setup before work begins. Throughout the project they coordinate the team, track progress and resolve issues, keeping you involved only where your input genuinely matters. Diskusija's project management is certified to ISO 9001: a framework built around client satisfaction, continuous improvement and proactive risk management.

  • Native Georgian translators with sector expertise

Every Georgian project is assigned to a native speaker whose professional background covers the content area in question. Legal content goes to a legal specialist, IT content to someone who knows the technology sector, life sciences content to a translator with the relevant regulatory knowledge. All our Georgian translators are native speakers of the language — the right match between linguist and subject matter is where quality begins.

  • Translation memory: consistency that compounds

Every segment translated is stored in a project-specific translation memory and reused automatically wherever matching content appears — within the same project or across future ones. For clients with ongoing Georgian content, this means phrasing and terminology stay consistent across every deliverable, while the proportion of reusable content grows over time — reducing both cost and turnaround on each successive project.

  • Terminology management

Your organisation has its own vocabulary, and it needs to appear the same way in every Georgian document you publish. For larger and continuous projects, we create a dedicated Georgian glossary with you before work begins — capturing each agreed term and applying it consistently through translation and QA. The glossary grows alongside your content and is maintained for as long as we work together.

  • AI/MT translation with post-editing

For high-volume Georgian content — large documentation sets, software strings or regulatory material — we offer AI/MT translation with native post-editing. AI tools process the initial output at scale; a native Georgian linguist then reviews every segment, correcting errors, applying the agreed glossary and ensuring the output reads to the full standard of human translation. Certified to ISO 18587.

  • Multi-layer quality assurance

Each Georgian project goes through a defined QA sequence: translation by a sector-matched native linguist, independent editing and proofreading as separate steps, automated checks for terminology, consistency and formatting across the full document set, and a final project manager review against your brief. For large or high-stakes projects, AI-assisted QA adds a further systematic pass.

About the Georgian language and market

Georgia is a country of approximately 3.7 million people situated in the South Caucasus, bordered by Russia, Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Its economy has grown steadily in recent years, with real GDP reaching 9.4% growth in 2024, driven by services, ICT, construction and trade. The country uses its own currency, the Georgian lari (GEL). Georgia has a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) with the European Union, in force since 2016, which provides tariff-free access to the EU market for Georgian goods. The EU is Georgia's largest trading partner, and remittances from the Georgian diaspora in EU countries are a significant source of foreign income. Tourism is one of the most important sectors, contributing around 15% of GDP, with over 5 million international tourist visits recorded in 2024. Georgia's location on the Trans-Caspian Middle Corridor — the trade route connecting China and Europe via the Caspian Sea — is attracting growing transit and logistics activity. Key exports include copper ores and concentrates, ferroalloys, wine, hazelnuts, medications and mineral water.

Georgian — ქართული ენა (kartuli ena) — is the official language of Georgia and the native language of approximately 3.8 million people. It belongs to the Kartvelian (South Caucasian) language family, a small and ancient language family that has no demonstrated genetic relationship with any other language family in the world — not Indo-European, not Turkic, not Semitic. Georgian's closest relatives are Mingrelian, Laz and Svan, all spoken within Georgia by relatively small communities.

A short note on the language itself

Georgian is written in the Mkhedruli script — a 33-letter alphabet that is unique to the Kartvelian languages, unrelated to Latin, Cyrillic, Arabic or any other major writing system. In 2016, UNESCO inscribed Georgia's three historical writing systems — Asomtavruli, Nuskhuri and Mkhedruli — on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Mkhedruli has no uppercase or lowercase distinction, and each letter corresponds to a single sound, making Georgian spelling highly phonetic. Georgian grammar is agglutinative, with a verb system that can stack up to eight morphemes into a single form. The language has seven noun cases, uses postpositions rather than prepositions, and features a number system based on 20 (vigesimal) rather than 10. Georgian phonology includes ejective consonants and consonant clusters that have no equivalent in European languages — sequences like მწვრთნელი (mts'vrtneli, 'trainer') are routine in everyday Georgian. For translation buyers, the practical implication is that Georgian requires native translators with deep command of its grammar, phonology and writing system. Every Georgian translation project at Diskusija is assigned to a native Georgian translator.
