Introduction
When stepping into and developing in new markets, Viltechmeda UAB needs to translate manuals and equipment software into various languages.
Challenges
The specialist content of medical equipment manuals and applications requires specific knowledge in the medical field.
Also, the same terminology should be used in the manual and software content. Moreover, software content is limited in length, which sometime is really challenging to achieve.
Solution
Experienced linguists, proficient in the field of medical equipment, were assembled to build teams for every language. To ensure high-quality translations, the linguists are periodically evaluated.
Translation Memory tools are used to save translated fragments of text and apply them across several files and manuals so that consistency is maintained where the same text appears more than once. Quality assurance tools also enable us to check the consistency among files and manuals.
Regular communication with the client and linguists allowed us to make efficient, but well-thought-out decisions on shortening the user interface texts of software content.
Results
A quality-oriented team, with a good understanding of the client’s medical equipment and content needs, is continuously delivering consistent translation of specialised materials.
